Bottle build update

The bottle build has now finished, we now have the roof timbers on and are just waiting to add the roof.
The inside wall has the tiles on with our photos on, it's a wall of memories.
Next to the build I have build a little bbq area with a wavy wall. It's been fun building these with recycled items, even the bbq is recycled as it's an old pipe, the bench was thrown away as the legs were broken, even the red log store was an old filing cabinet set for the tip. All now rescued and given a new lease of life.

Puppet

Here is my puppet I made taking her first walk in the wood. The trees are now three years old and just starting to shoot up.

New posts- new photos

It's been a while since I posted last, my apologies but I can now log in and add photos again. Little trouble with the Google update, which all changed and it's taken me this long to work out how to upload photos.
Anyway here's a few of my latest patchwork items which have been added to my shop. This one is called Lavender Poppies.
It's nice to be back in blog land
This one is called Autumn Haze

Vintage crockery finds

This weekend we are having an early Mother's Day meal, my eldest is coming up from London and obviously my mum is coming over. This year I wanted to do something alittle different so I've been searching through the charity shops and I found a beautiful pink Pyrex vintage casserole dish (£1.75) and that started the theme. I had a few cups and saucers but I managed to find odd plates etc and now the table looks quite pretty. The flowers also haven't gone up in price in the shops which they will for the actual Mother's Day so I was able to buy quite a few. It's not all pink there's soft greens and blues and red too. But nothing matches which I l love. The cake stand is borrowed from a friend, not sure if it can be seen in the photos as they were a bit cropped.
The most I spent was a fine bone china cup and saucer for £5 but everything else was well under that. It just goes to show you don't have the break the bank. I hope all you mothers out there have a lovely day whenever you are celebrating.

It's the little things

Don't you find its the little t makes your heart smile, for me it's seeing the smoke rise up from the Chinese hat on the roof of the lorry or the sun shining through the grass rainbow
I still haven't found the last orange bowl/bottle to fill the gap but maybe this year I'll stumble across something in the charity shops.
I've added an electric hot plate to the kitchen, as I don't like using the gas oven...it works a treat.
I even added a small travel electric kettle too for friends when they come to stay. (Hidden in the cupboard so not shown) .im off to enjoy the winter sunshine on the decking this morning, maybe write a poem or two.
I've been busy sewing quilts recently, here's a photo of the three in my shop.

My angel

Here is a small poem I wrote about the Angel with me. I very rarely share my poetry as it's quite personal but I wanted to share this for a person called Karen who knows about Angels. Some people may not believe in angels but this is how my angel has come into my life.

You are my tears, my rainbow, the shiniest star,
You are the hand on my shoulder,
The candle in the dark.
You are the voice I hear in my dreams,
The face in frosted glass.
You are the one who turns the corner before me,
The smile I see in the crowd.
You are the warm breeze across my face,
The one who never leaves.
You are the arms around me when I need it the most.
You are my angel, my angel.

The sun quilt, a handmade patchwork quilt made with vintage embroidery and banjara mirrored textiles. This quilt represents the colours in the sky at the rising and the setting of the sun.
It measures approximately 30"x 31" and is now listed in my shop.

New year-new line

It's a new year and with it I've decided to add a new line to my Etsy shop. These Upcycled denim clothes will have vintage embriodery made by the Hmong hill tribes. Here is the first dress, it's a size 10UK/38EU. The vintage embroidery is in really good condition making this a lovely keepsake for you to wear and treasure. A truly great little piece of folk art fashion.
