Up cycling again

This morning I've been upcycling an old leather handbag I bought off  eBay for 99p. I have used a vintage textile which I had been saving to use as a pocket, but the colours matched the tan leather of the bag. I've also added an old working  zip to the inside pocket, and voila a bag truly unique to me.

Number four

This is number four, showing some of my vintage dresses.

Selfie number three

I'm the fatter one on the left btw. This is selfie number three, pictured here painting yet another oil painting of a hare. I have so many painting I've started and not yet finished its shocking. I did not clear away the clutter either as I wanted you to see how my home really is not staged. The puppet I made from scratch has been sitting at this table since September, she usually sits at the kitchen table but we had a big family meal so now she sits watching me paint.

Self portrait week - number two

Self portrait number two. This is me in my the kitchen behind the church pew with my wonderful calendar by the talented artist Rima Staines (The Hermitage) behind me and one of my hare oil paintings (which also can be purchased in A6 notecard format at bedfordgypsy.etsy.com) -little plug there!
I decided last year to let my grey roots grow through as I'm tired of colouring them each month, so it may look like I need a touch up but it's on purpose, eventually I'll cut off the brown ends and just have grey dreds as I slowly turn into the crone.
I also wanted to show my hand tattoos, I have had them so many years that I don't notice them, but as people point out they are unusual so there now you can see them and I've captured them in a selfie.

A week of self portraits-number one

For a weeks challenge I am making myself take a self portrait every day. I am one of those people who hate being in front of a camera and much happier behind one. But as I am getting older I realise that I need to capture moments in time as they will never come back, some here is day one.

Painting around corners

I have spent the last few months helping my little dachshund recover from a spine operation so I haven't been on here much. He is doing really well and is now walking, bless him. The bottle brick build had to come to a stop even though i only have about three more rows to build, but the tarpaulin is now on and covering it until next spring. I started doing an oil painting yesterday on a block of wood I had. I wanted to make the skin tone green, it's a different technique and I wasn't really comfortable painting in this style but I wanted to try something new. I decided to paint the sides too making it more 3D.

Here is the finished painting.
